Launch of Canelo Crime

Marion is excited to be one of the authors featured in the launch of Canelo’s new imprint, Canelo Crime, launching on 24 September. The third book in the DI Clare Mackay crime series, Lies to Tell will be published as a paperback on launch day.

See Them Run, Marion’s debut novel has been shortlisted for the prestigious Bloody Scotland Crime Debut of the Year 2020. The winner will be announced at 7 pm on Friday, 18th September, live online. 


Recording Marion’s Audio Books

Lockdown was a busy time for Marion as she completed the first draft of her fourth novel. At the same time she narrated both See Them Run and In Plain Sight for the audio book company, W F Howes. With the temporary closure of studios the recordings were made at home. 


Canelo To Publish Three More of Marion’s Books

Marion is delighted to continue the DI Clare Mackay crime series with Canelo. Three further books will be published in 2021 and 2022.

Marion was thrilled to be the first author to record a short reading for The Northbank Book Club. The extract is from Marion’s second crime novel, In Plain Sight.


Marion’s second novel in the DI Clare Mackay Crime Series, In Plain Sight, has been chosen as Harrogate International Festivals’ Book of the Month for February.

Marion is delighted to be chairing this event which promises to be a most enjoyable evening. Both Brian and Allan are crime-writers, published by Thunderpoint and their novels are full of intrigue and fascinating detail. There will be an opportunity to chat to Brian and Allan who will be happy to sign copies of their books. Tickets for this highly-recommended event are just £3 from the Bookhouse in Monifieth. From 7.00 pm – 8.30 pm on Monday, 28 October 2019.


Marion will be reading an extract from the opening chapter of See Them Run at Dundee University on Sunday, 29th September 2019. The event, Let Me Tell You A Story, will feature readings by former students and tutors from the Lifelong Learning group’s creative writing courses.

Marion’s debut crime novel, the first in the DI Clare Mackay Crime Thriller Series will be published as an eBook by Canelo on 31 October 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, Kobo and all other major eBook retailers.


And, if you enjoyed See Them Run, book 2 in the series, In Plain Sight, will be published on 20 February 2020.

Marion is delighted to be represented by the prestigious literary agency, Northbank Talent Management.  She is very much looking forward to working with Northbank, in particular towards the publication of her forthcoming crime novels set in historic St Andrews, featuring Detective Inspector Clare Mackay.  More news of this as soon as we have it.
